Common Questions
Where is my data stored?
PathKept stores its app database inside its sandbox container: ~/Library/Containers/com.dawkedupproductions.pathkept/Data/Library/Application Support/PathKept/. PathKept does not provide a PathKept sync service for this data.
Does PathKept sync between devices?
No. PathKept is local-only by design. iCloud, CloudKit, and custom backend sync are intentionally not built.
Does PathKept work offline?
Core task features work offline after subscription access is active. Starting a trial, subscribing, restoring purchases, or refreshing subscription status requires Apple App Store access.
How does the free trial and subscription work?
PathKept offers a 7-day free trial with full functionality, then monthly or annual auto-renewable subscriptions. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and billing are handled by Apple through your App Store account. PathKept includes Restore Purchases in Settings.
Does PathKept read my Calendar or Reminders?
Only with your permission, and only the calendars and reminder lists you choose. Calendar events appear as your hard landscape. Reminders flow into your PathKept inbox so you can capture from anywhere with Siri.
How does automatic local backup work?
Automatic local backup is on by default. PathKept writes timestamped JSON backup files to: ~/Library/Containers/com.dawkedupproductions.pathkept/Data/Library/Application Support/PathKept/Backups/.
Open PathKept > Settings > General > Automatic Local Backup to change the folder, back up now, open the backup folder, or restore from a backup. PathKept does no cloud sync. If you choose iCloud Drive or another synced folder, that folder follows your sync settings. No account.
How do I export my data?
Open PathKept > Settings > General, then click Export JSON. PathKept writes pathkept-export.json to its local Application Support folder inside the sandbox container.
How do I delete all my data?
Quit PathKept, then drag the PathKept app to the Trash. To also remove stored data, delete the PathKept folder inside ~/Library/Containers/com.dawkedupproductions.pathkept/Data/Library/Application Support/.
Is there an iPhone or iPad version?
Not yet. PathKept ships on macOS first. iOS is planned but not committed to a date.
Does PathKept use AI or send my data to any service?
No. PathKept has no AI layer or third-party analytics. App Store subscriptions are processed by Apple. Other Apple services follow your settings.
